There is a new version coming out, for a more upscale
clientele. Instead of the Breathing
Gym, it is called the Breathing

Maybe my friend Bill was trying to say that there is another version of this material available now. As silly and strange as their videos are, the point is that the concepts in these tapes work wonders for people's playing. The way that the information is presented is to try to make a connection with younger students, and I've seen how middle and high school age children think that Pat and Sam are funny on the tapes.
I for one am glad that this information gets posted on here, as there is way too much BS on this forum anymore.

I use the Brass Gym everyday.
It takes me about an hour to get through the whole book.

I am not much of a fan of the breathing gym. The book and video don't match up order-wise, and there are exercies in there that can actually cause physical harm, particularly for you asthmatic tuba/euph players. 4 different people in my studio are asthmatic (including my teacher), and they all had their inhalers out while we ran through this video. One of was approaching unconsciousness by the end. Breathing is great, and there are some good exercises in there, but don't take ti all to be gold just because you're getting the information from high authority.
