I was recently asked to play Csardas with a wind ensemble that I play in. The director has asked me to find "the best" arrangement. Have any of you played this piece with a wind band before? Any suggestions? Is there anything that is already for wind band and solo tuba or will I get to do some nice transposing?

You are going to play Csardas as a soloist and you are looking for advice on multiple tongueing as well? My first comment would get your multiple tongueing sorted out right away. Regardless of which version the band plays you've got a lot of ground to cover if that's not already up to par.

Baadsvik's arrangement with wind band is about as good as they get and it's about $60, available here:

It has not been posted yet (hopefully soon), but if anyone needs a copy I finished up a version for solo and brass band that Oystein used with the Brass Band of Columbus. I have not heard it yet and that is why I am waiting to post, but apparently it went over well.

Good luck with the double tonguing. Practice slow, like everything else, and build up the tempo.

I meant double tonguing advice kind of rhetorically- i have a decent double tongue, but I wanted to see if anyone had some sort of new way of going about improving it- worth a try. I would NOT even be attempting this piece if I did not feel secure in my multiple tonguing/artistry/upper range.
