Accent Tubas

Post by Dan Schultz »

I've just started hearing about Accent Music Instruments. I've taken a look at their website and the tubas very closely resemble the old B & S/VMI stencils from the 60's and 70's. According to the website, the tubas a German made. Can anyone shed some light on the actual manufacturer?

Accent is a company formed as an alliance between several US retailers. The theory is that there is one retailer in any particular state, who has exclusive rights to sell Accent instruments. Also, Accent has various manufacturers make their instruments, such as B&S and Buffet as well as several off-shore manufactures. As of two years ago B&S made all Accent tubas and euphoniums.
I saw ghost riders in the sky, and they each played a York EEb tuba.
