Does anybody know if Nat McIntosh's sousaphone feature "The Warrior Comes Out to Play" has ever been written down/published? I'd like to try to learn it (and possibly add my own twists). Thanks!

I do not believe it has, but you could always do what earlier performers have done in the jazz genre. Listen and transcibe it, but you could also contact Nat and see if he is willing to write it down. He is a nice guy, but that is one of his signature pieces.

Ditto!
He's usually pretty good about answering e-mails (at least he was like 3 years ago when I e-mailed him). He's a really nice guy like tubacrow said and he's pretty willing to help out fellow sousa players. Though, I would just transcribe it.

I've learned it by ear (by listening to it about a million times!) if you still need some music, I can try to write it down.
