Unfortunately as Shostakovich is still in copyright, getting hold of a part to practice is very difficult.
It includes a lot of ff in the low register and is certainly one to play on the largest tuba you have (works well on CC, or BBb and I have in the past played on a Besson EEb). Looking at the part it appears to go down to low D, but I cannot see anything higher that Db in the stave. The second movement is fast and takes some playing. Otherwise a good full tone is the main thing.
It is a nice work for tuba - enjoy!
