Tuba repairs in the Raleigh, NC area

Asking for advice - Does anyone have any recomendations as to a good local tuba repairman where I could go for a chemical clean, maybe some other repair/maintenance work? I live close enough to the Tuba Exchange to take it there, but from things I've read here I'm concerned about the quality of their service. I'd rather not ship it somewhere if I can avoid it - worried about the trip, and the cost.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mike Morse - Morse instrument repair. He's here in southwest Durham (off of 40 near the southpoint mall). He does great work out of a shop in his basement. If you want some more references, I can give you plenty.

Does anyone know about Ben Shaw of Raleigh? I heard he used to do brass repairs.

You will want to go to Raleigh Music Center on Capitol Blvd. ben Shaw runs that shop, and Mike Morse works there. Either of them will do a great job on your horn. its the only place in town i take my horn to these days.
