Hello,
I recently acquired an old Conn Sousaphone. It is in excellent shape and has a VERY red brass bell (interior). The loop from the bell to the valve cluster does not make a compleat revolution, but rather, goes directly to into the valve section, so I am presuming this to be an Eb sousaphone.
I can only guess as to the KEY, because there are no valves!
Q. Do the BBb and Eb Conn sousaphones use the same valve sets (same specs.)?
Q. Where can I obtain a valve set?
Q. Does ONLY an Eb sousaphone make that half circle of tubing from the bell to the valve cluster?
Thank you,
Kathott

The pistons are the same size, but the Eb pistons have the narrower ,689 bore of their passages versus the .732 bore of the BBb piston passages. This goes for old non-modified Conn pistons not intended for the 20K/22K short action models.
