This guy just uses the hose - on a budget!

There are a lot of very strong players in Mexico (and California.) I have watched some bandas play for hours without a break and the single Sousaphone is right there for every note of every song! (and loud!)

It looks to me like the guy's instrument in the first videos has holes or something on the hose to modify pitch, aka a serpent. If anyone has software to put some screen shots up, we could analyze and debate this endlessly.
FWIW, he seems to be from the "tight gut" school of playing - what would Jake say?

Wow! Another instrument to go with a garden hose and funnel french horn. I'm going to have to try to make one of those for myself.

Looks like a 6' gas connection hose to a 2 1/2 gallon water bottle. Wonder if it would be better with a 5 gallon water bottle? Better yet, would it sound better if you filled the bottle up with water.

on the bottom link it shows a 12 ft hose and then a small plastic bottle to go over the hose and then the big end goes over the water bottle end and then taped together.
