Denis Wick is the best that I have encountered. I would go with that. Its a tad pricey but its worth it. Cheers.

Yes, the Wick is the best option, all round sound & intonation.

I have a Ron Apperson mute that I bought seven years ago and love. I don't have to adjust tuning at all, and it really achieve a muted sound without distorting what's going on behind the horn.

I had to buy a mute for all county band also! I bought the R & S and it worked well, however that was 3 or 4 years ago, and I used it for one line, and haven't used it since. You may want to see if you can borrow one if you don't want to spend the money just yet.
