Home Silver Plating???

I was lurking around ebay and came across this:

Anyone know anything about this? And dang...it would take a TON of this to do a tuba....

If I remember correctly the chemistry that occurs is a surface event and the layer that plates out is very thin. ~ 1 molecule thick Silver is deposited, and the action stops. The next time you buff the item, you will loose some of that layers, and soon, you'll be back to raw brass. It might be effective to quickly sell an item, but I would guess its hardly a solution with any practicality.

Probably okay for repairs and such, I just thought it was an interesting product.

It seems too good to be true, it probably is, but for $25 it might be worth trying on an horn with a little wear. Worse comes to worse is it ruins a perfectly good tuba
