The Vienna/Solti recording with Birgit Nilsson in the title role is great. As is the Boston/Ozawa, that features Chester Schmitz on contrabass trombone, and Warren Deck on tuba. Absolutely, astoundingly, frighteningly amazing reading of one of the hardest parts in the whole rep.
