I've just acquired a long neglected, parts missing and/or damaged 38K from an estate auction. I know I'll be making a trip to my favorite repairman for some dent removal, soldering, etc. I'd like to get some things before bringing it to him, eg finger buttons, bell screws, valve tops and bottoms, neck, bits, 1st valve tuning slide, neck screw. If anyone has any good ideas where to get these items easily, I would appreciate your information.
Paul
Maybe this is not possible, but I'm hoping this 38K can replace the hole in my heart that has been there since the day I insanely traded in my beloved 20K on a pretty, shiny, but ultimately unsatisfying 14K.

The parts are readily available, as I found out when I had to have a new receiver on the 38K I played, and you can get them in silver plate. But as the man said, usually only through an established shop. Besides, you want a good tech to do this anyway to make sure it is in top shape to play.

I'd give Harvey a call. 610 367 7232. He does work on a lot of Conn sousaphones. He may just have the parts your looking for. Also don't forget, most parts that you find for a 14K or 32K sousaphones, will fit your 38K.
