Hello,
I am looking for suggestions for BBb tuba trios, all levels.
I doubt if its possible, but the musical content has to be good as well!
Also seeking trios for euph, F and CC, mostly to play with students.

Ken Singleton did some very fine trios - they go pretty high for a BBb but are quite playable (nobody has to just sit up there for very long) and sound good.

I highly recommend the Anton Reiche Horn Trios. Just read them in bass clef and add 3 flats to the key signature and they are wonderful pieces. There is a book of 6 and another book of 8. I have played these with friends most of my life and I never get tired of them. Range runs from Pedal Eb to Bb at the top of the staff. Very playable.

I even have a recording somewhere of me playing all three parts.

The attached pages had to be compromised grossly to fit the 256K limit, but email me to get access to a much better file format. This arrangement really was made for 2 Eb tubas and 1 BBb, but aren’t American players used to doing everything on the BBb?

I heard Beethoven's Fifth, Movement 1, as a tuba quartet/quintet (I forget which) many years ago, at a grad recital by Dan Perantoni. It was a riotous crowd pleaser.
Harvey Phillips played a recording of himself and two others doing Flight of the Bumblebee, in unison (except for the last note), on Sousaphones. He played the recording at an ATEC a couple of years ago.

Weren’t the two others Bill Bell and Arnold Jacobs?

Ludus is a three movement tuba trio. I've heard it done on 3 F tubas (at SWRTEC - Norm Pearson, John Van Houten, Justin Jerome) and it sounded AMAZING. A few years back, Jim Self had two other students and myself learn Ludus with each of us on CC tuba (2 PT-6Ps and my Gronitz PCK), and it actually sounded pretty cool. I would imagine it might be possible on 3 BBb tubas, but it is a rather difficult piece technically. The three tuba parts are relatively equal in range and difficulty, so it would probably be best if everyone played a tuba of the same key (3 F tubas, 3 CC tubas, etc.)
