Hello all

Can anyone help me with sizing comparisons between Perantucci mouthpieces and GW? Which GW piece most closely resembles a PT88? I currently play a PT86 and want to go a touch smaller. I am living in France, so cannot try before I buy.

Cheers, Adam

A G & W Bayamo has these dimensions: Bayamo Cup Diameter = 33.50 / 1.319" Throat = 8.43mm

A PT 88 has these dimensions: PT88 Cup Diameter = 33.50 / 1.319" Throat = 8.1mm

http://www.dwerden.com/mouthpieces/tuba ... pare=33.50 is a site where you can do comparisons of all mouthpieces of a similar cup diameter (33.50) and http://www.dwerden.com/mouthpieces/tuba.cfm is a site where you can look up any mouth piece's dimensions. I find it very useful for looking at mouthpieces and comparing them. Thank you Dave Werden.

Is not the Bayamo a Helleberg/funnel-style mouthpiece? The PT-88 is a bowl/cup-style, so they aren't exactly the same (although all makers have their own variations in "funnel" or "bowl").

If you want to go a bit smaller, why not just go for the 88?

Actually, even though the PT-88 looks like a cup on the outside, I find that the inside has such a steep slope that it really is a funnel. For me, as well, the 88 has always performed very similarly to the more overtly funnel-shaped moutpieces.

Anyway, I'm not a particular fan of any G&W mouthpieces. Stainess just isn't my thing, I suppose. When I'm not using me Helleberg (which I usually am), my standard is the PT-88.

I have a PT-88 and it is very bowl shaped. I mean big bowl like the one I like to eat popcorn out of while watching the Law and Order series except the original (don't like the characters), the CSI series, Burn Notice, In Plain Sight, and one becoming my new favorite, Criminal Minds. UMMMMM, popcorn. Sorry getting off topic a little.
