Gigbag for my 3/4 VMI clone?

Hi all,

I've decided to buy a gigbag for my tuba, because it'll possibly be cheaper than having to take the car into town every week ;)
The problem is: my tuba is a 3/4 BBb, and I've looked all over to find a reasonably priced bag which fits the horn. The bell is 18'', and the instrument is 43'' high. Bags I can find are either for 18'' bell but too short, or high enough but for a 22'' bell.
Does anyone have advice on whether I can safely use the 22'' model, or an address where I can get a gigbag with the right dimensions at a reasonable price? (and willing to ship to Europe....)

It's an almost identical twin to the 3101 listed here http://www.vogtlaendische-musik.com/tuba/frb.htm
The dimensions are very similar, but not exactly the same. Roughly 43 cm bell, height about 110 cm. Rounded off the inches a bit liberally, but basically, yes, a 43'' 3/4 tuba.

Edit:
Just came home and measured again, using a tape measure with inches on it. It's actually just under 42''.

Donna Altieri makes gig bags to whatever specifications that you request. In fact, she's done so many horns that most times all you have to tell her is the make and model of your horn. She usually has the dimensions already on file and can make the bag very quickly. I don't know if she can do a transaction with someone outside of the US but it certainly would be adviseable for you to email her if you're interested:

Good luck!

Thanks, just mailed for an order form. Even with shipping etc. it'll still be $200 cheaper than the price quote I got from the local brass shop. And it'll fit too!
