Accompanist needed for Springfield, MO area

Post by Aubrey Foard »

Unfortunately, the accompanist I hired to do a competition in Springfield this Saturday phoned me last night informing me that the piece (John Williams) was too hard. Any of you guys in the Springfield or Kansas City able to help me out and recommend someone? Preferably someone who deals often with brass players or is very experienced with contemporary (but not too contemporary) rep.

Thanks!

I feel for your situation, and I assume that you have called everyone at Southwest Missouri State University. Maybe the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville might have someone willing for the right money, considering the hour drive one way.

Wish I could be more help, but I am across the state on the Northeast side.

You might want to try emailing Tom Stien at UMKC or Scott Watson at KU they play in this area alot and they my be able to give you a few names
Their email is on the school web sites.
