I'm working up Four Greek Preludes by Robert Spillman (for unaccompanied tuba). Has anyone ever played this? If so, have any thoughts, tips, reviews, recipes to share? Any recordings of note I should look into?

Thanks!

These are really fun. You really can and should play with lots of flair! I should try to find my copy. I am unaware of any recordings being available.

I worked on this a long time ago at Sam Green's insistence. Sam told me that "Bob" had consulted with him extensively on it. At the time I thought it sounded rather "hokey" in places, but in retrospect I think it was my approach as much as anything. So if I could provide any advice, it would be to immerse a little in Greek culture and surrender to that inspiration.

Put some Windex on it.

I know I'm bringing back a really old/dead topic, but would anyone happen to know where I can order the music for this? I'm planning on programming this into my senior recital next spring. Thanks in advance!

Good choice. For lack of a better term, this piece is the balls. I have no idea how to order it, though.

It's on the Falcone Tuba Artist Music list for 2011:

http://www.falconefestival.org/musictubaartist.php

There's a link to Hickey's on that page (goes to their 2010 Falcone music order page, but after a few clicks, I wound up here):

http://www.hickeys.com/cgi/display.cgi? ... e=tuso.htm

(scroll down almost to the bottom of the page)
Item# 14279
Price $5.50

Thank you very much! I actually ordered something off of that site yesterday, and I'm surprised that I didn't see it on there at first.
