Hey all,
I'm planning to buy a silent brass system when i buy my brand new horn in august. *YAY!*
I'm not sure how to get more info about silent brass systems. Is there only one option for the euph (yamaha) and does it work well?

I would like to know if there are other options out there that work as well.
Thanks!

It mutes the horn very well. I have never liked what the electronics sound like in the earphones.

Agree. My wife bought me the silent brass several years ago for Christmas. I've never figured out if it was a gift for me or for her. I use just the mute as well and haven't used the electronics in years. Perhaps there is a more inexpensive practice mute solution out there that someone will recommend that might save you a few bucks if you're not interested in the electronics.

Regards,

Arul

Your best option is to find a time or place when you can practice without needing the mute. If you have no other option, then it's great for what it does. You do notice the resistance, however little it is, so I would not try to do all of your practicing with it.

I've only had mine for a few weeks, but I'll update you when I've used it more extensively if I find anything strange.
