Still waiting for them to come out with a large / Euro shank. Their mouthpieces have been too small in many of the horn I have tried them in.

I ordered 1 this morning. I added the item to the cart and paid via Paypal. I wonder if there is really supposed to be a price discrepancy between the site and Paypal. Looking forward to this one.

A new KT-50 was given to me by a dealer in exchange for some repair work. At that time, Kelly was selling 'prototypes'... probably off a 'one-shot' injection mold for $50 each. The cost was said to be higher due to the tooling being prototype and the parts required some additional hand work. Apparently the MP's didn't sell very well and were eventually removed from the product line.

I have many mouthpieces.... some of them I paid a lot of money for. I still like the KT-50 as well as anything else I have. I recently purchased a PT-50 and a PT-48x. The PT-50 plays the same as the KT-50 as best I can figure.

I think the KT-50 is a winner. The only thing that puzzles me is that the price is a good bit higher than a regular Kelly mouthpiece. They didn't sell well for $50 and now they are back for $65. Go figure.

I see they fixed the price in Paypal.

AS for playing the same as the metal counterparts, I find that my Kelly mouthpieces collect a lot of water in the cup/bowl of the mouthpiece while playing. That does not happen with my metal mouthpieces. Consequently, I use it only for "car buzzing" and not for playing. Has anyone else encountered this little annoyance?

It happens whether I am in my basement, living room, outside, cold, warm, winter, summer, etc. Perhaps I will revisit using the Kelly during my regular warm-up and practice routine and see if the water/spit collection is still happening. Thanks for the tip.

It seems a little counter-intuitive, given the thermal properties of polycarbonate vs. brass (though I imagine one of the engineers here could have a surprise for us.) But it sounds familiar to me - I mean, I think I've noticed an unusually wet Kellyberg experience or two. Maybe it's about surface tension - condensation probably forms a film and drains off on a metal surface, but beads up on the polycarbonate surface.

I'll try one the minute they sell for the same price as the other plastic mps.

According to the Kelly website... there is a 10 - 12 day delay to ship the KT-50. Apparently they are still producing them off their prototype mold and don't keep any in stock.
