British Tubists on TubeNet?

Hi there, I'm new to this forum, although have been reading posts for a while! Loving a lot of the posts, and there are some great discussions. Are there many British tuba players on here? I don't know if I'm missing out on a huge glut of tubists in the UK but we don't seem to have as many 'enthusiasts' online as elsewhere in the world!

Hello! Welcome to TubeNet TP from a fellow countryman. I know of about half dozen fairly regular British contributors on TubeNet (PM me if you want to know more). However, I believe there are a lot more lurking and not posting. For example, I have sold two tubas on here to UK buyers which never post.

TubeNet is a great way to broaden your tuba horizons beyond the brass band field.

Welcome. In addition to here, there are a few British tubists on brass-forum.co.uk , and I believe even a blog or two.

It is refreshing to see some fellow Brits on here! I have to say it is also nice that it's a forum that encompasses all areas of playing! As a predominantly orchestral player I have found some sites to be a little bandy so to speak, and although I love banding, the balance on here is excellent. Look forward to many more conversations!

As a fellow Brit I've found Tubenet to be excellent at expanding my horizons in the tuba world. You'll come across a few debates/discussions that can leave you mystified by points of reference we don't share, but I can honestly say I've learnt more on this site than I could ever have believed possible.

I count Tubenet as one of the best resources a tuba player could wish for, plus every now and then it's laugh out loud funny.

Great to see a fellow countryman take the plunge into a wider tuba pool of knowledge.

ENJOY

Hi,
I am Canadian, which for some people means a "wannabe" Brit", or a colonist.
I was started on Eb tuba in Vancouver by an ex Coldstreamer. Not too many months after I started, he stopped me in a lesson one day, put down his baton, and with a sense of occasion said, "Son, I think you're ready for the Double B".

I'm a Brit too, not too regular a visiter now though. Just pop in when I have the time! From Preston.
