Uh, you're kidding, right?
Rick "wondering which is better, a Piper Cub or a 747" Denney

Maybe he meant a 52j?
Still a lot different, but at least closer.

Lay out your playing requirements and you will get better advice.
What size group will you be supporting with this horn and what kinds of music will you be playing? What sorts of experiences have you had with the tuba- training, musical groups, etc. What type of horn are you playing now and why do you think you need to change?
Give the group a little more information, please!

Uhmm. . . Piper cub/747(wh is wh)? I've played the Cerv 601 and really liked it. I get mixed up on the Conn nomenclature, but the big bore jobbies have gorgeous low register. However, (for me) they didn't speak as immediately, and I didn't feel as nimble on them. If I had to pick up a horn and go play a gig, it'd be the Cerveny. I would like to spend more time with a certain Conn that I met, though.

In Rick's defense, the OP originally asked for a comparison between a 5J (Piper Cub) and a Cerveny 601 (747).
