Holton BAT at Baltimore Brass

I was at Baltimore Brass (a Tubenet sponser) yesterday and tried the Holton CC (BAT). If someone is looking for a tuba, perhaps you should consider this one. I usually do not post about specific tubas that are for sale, but this one is special.
My observations (opinions)
1.) the sound is outstanding, it has enough core in the sound
to make an Alexander player like me happy
2.) the response from pp to ff is even
3.) along with observation 3, I had no problem playing very
light to very strong, I could see using this specific
tuba
for a general purpose tuba (not something that I
say about many 6/4 tubas)
4.) it has four valves (something that never bothered me), I
could play it in tune with no difficulty and the low D flat
was solid with the 2 - 3 combination
If anyone has further questions please PM me for observations / opinions. Also, other then liking the store, I have no connection with Baltimore Brass.

best,
Mark

Out of interest, would that Holton have been CC originally, or cut down from BBb?

Wade, Do you still use your 2165, or has the Holton largely replaced?

I understand that this tuba was always a CC.
