I just got my PT-6 back from Andy Smith in Winston Salem NC and WOAH!! I just had him do a chem clean and vent the valves. He ended up doing the clean, vented the valves, took out a few dents, aligned the valves in less than a day and did a damn good job. My horn plays great. So worth the drive if you're in the area. I'll put up some horn dorn of the good job later.

Andy's a great repairman and tubist. I can't really say the same thing about his football affiliations, though. . .

He studies and I think he lives at UNCG but his shop is in Winston Salem for now.

Must be a recent development?

The address I was given back in Aug. was in Greensboro.

Andy uses this board, so I don't want to speak for him. I'll do it anyway, though, if he doesn't chime in soon.

To clarify things for everyone, I have 2 different shops. In my home, in Greensboro, I keep a playing condition shop and all of my woodwind repair tools. Due to the costs associated with an Ultrasonic Cleaner and various other expensive brass tooling, another technician and I have these things housed in a separate facility that we share in Winston-Salem. I do work out of both. Thanks to all for the nice words!
