Norm Pearson of the L.A. Phil teaches at two or three colleges/universities in the area. Perhaps he has a student who would be willing to take on your organ building mentor.

Would your mentor be Manuel Rosales, by any chance? At Seattle's St. James Cathedral, I sing with Rosales' stunning Opus 30 every week.
