this weekend at Appalachian state university in Boone, NC we are hosting the American brass chamber music symposium (or something like that it's a long drawn out name) what this means is that all the original members of the new york brass quintet along with about 4 or 5 other pro quintets and a dozen or so amature quintets are going to be descending on Boone. in attendance will be harvey phillips along with members of the American brass quintet (concert sat 8pm) should be a great weekend and it coincides with app's homecoming so if you dont like brass you can always watch football.

Did anyone tell Connie Weldon about this, she lives down that way.

Almost any reason to get to the Carolinas works for me, and this event looks fantastic. Any music student in driving distance should go (as well as most musicians). If only my work schedule would allow.
