Where to buy a Tuba in Montreal?

Post by LoTone »

I am in Montreal. I have found two retailers so far:
  • Twigg Musique
    Pascal Veraquin
Are there others?

I suppose you could call Atelier du Musicien (514) 526 5656. They might have one or two.

There is also Steve's Music.

Hi,

I'm from Montreal and I can tell you some information regarding where to buy but it depends how much money you want to invest as well as what kind of tuba you are searching for and for what use.

I fyou want to investigate more, I'm open to give hints because I shopped for a tuba for the last 1 1/2 year.

Keep me posted and If you want to reach by e-mail you can do so.

Regards,

Hi,

What kind of tuba are you looking for?
I have a PT-6 that I'm looking to sell. I live in Toronto but I'm sure we could make some arrangements. The good news is you avoid the border.

If you're interested please e-mail me at robteehan@gmail.com" target="_blank

I am looking at community concert band playing. Medium difficulty parts ranging from difficulty 2.5 to 4.

I am shopping for either 3/4 or 4/4 BBb or CC tubas.

Since I am looking at tuba playing as a past time, for the moment, I do not intend to go beyond a $3K CDN budget.

This is the most specific I found via the link given above here:

http://www.boutiquedumusicien.com/tubas_1u.html

Among the instruments listed there are several that I wouldn’t touch unless they were very rare lucky samples of their respective species. There only are about 5, which I would start searching/testing between.

It is hard to be too specific across big waters. And I don’t know neither your playing skills nor your acquaintance with the tuba market. As an old teacher I like people doing most of their thinking themselves, of course within a frame of helpfulness. For now I will just say that these 5 samples happen to be listed right after each other. The last ones may not fill your formal wishes, yet they may be so fine players, that they may convince you.
