Hi all
I just wanted to take this opportunity to "big up" Les Neish's album "Salt of the Earth". It was launched on the day of the National Championships (October 17th) and was made available for download the same day from here:
http://www.worldofbrasstunes.com/
Search under "Just Added".
This is a GREAT album from an exceptional soloist supported by fabulous accompanists (Martyn Parkes on Piano & the Foden's Band).
He has all the technique you could want, does a nifty line in multiphonics and possesses astonishing range and agility.
There is some wonderful new pieces for tuba as well as more traditional fare. Previews of all the pieces are on the website and are well worth a browse. Oh ..... He's playing on Sting's forthcoming album as well!!
I apologise if this sounds a bit "gushy" but I'm truly excited by this album & had to let you all know!
Cheers
Russ
