I have a PT48 that I use when I play Bb and sousaphone. I like it, but I would not mind a wider rim. How does the 86 compare? I do not want to go down in rim size (and would actually be up for going bigger as I only use my 48 for big-horn stuff) and if it's a bit shallower so much the better.

Not a popular mouthpiece, I gather?

If you want a truly huge mouthpiece, the LOUD LM-12 or the LOUD LM-3 are the biggest I can find. Maybe a Denis Wick 1XL?

Maybe.... but I don 't think I am really looking for a huge mouthpiece or else I'd get a Bruno Tilz or some such thing.
