You brass quintet guys may all already know about this set titled "In Dulci Jubilo" by J.A.C. Redford. They are very nice, very interesting and very different from the usual Christmas fare. Here is a link to the JW Pepper page where you can listen to an mp3 of Wexford.

On the Pepper website it states that there are three pieces in the arrangement.

However, on the Phila. Brass Cd there are 5 movements listed under the In Dulci Jubilo title.

What three pieces are included in the arrangment? I would assume In Dulci Jubilo is one. I heard the Wexford Carol on the Pepper site. what other movement(s) are there? The other movements on the CD are Joseph Dearest Joseph MIne, I Wonder as I Wander and Susanni

I Wonder as I Wander is the score "snapshot" that they give.

Z-tuba is correct.
I Wonder as I Wander - 2 Flugelhorns
In Dulci Jublio - pic and C trumpet
Wexford - 2 C Tpts.

The full set can be ordered from the composers site.

FYI, to buy it from JW Pepepr costs over $50 with shipping for three movements
I bought a set of parts of all 5 movements from the composer for $35 with free shipping.

I hope you like it as much as I do. I found it online on Friday, drove down to the Pepper warehouse that afternoon and read it with my quintet Sunday. No time for shipping, but my gas for that 20 mile round trip cost as much. Let me know about the two movemnts I don't have. My Tpt players had a bit of a problem reading In Dulci Jubilo, it seems the pic part is in a funny key, bitch, bitch, bitch, but the other two movements were lovely. It's nice to have something other than the same old tired arrangements in the book.

The newer Phila. Brass Christmas CD (as opposed to the old Phila. Orchestra Brass "Festival of Carols In Brass" album) is one of my favorite holiday CDs. The arrangements and the playing are both top notch.

There is another set of carols on their CD arranged by Richard Price which are very nice. The collection is simply titled Christmas Carols for Brass Quintet. Published by Merion Music, Inc with Theodore Presser Co. as Sole Representative. This set has 9 carols including We Wish You, Angels We have Heard On High, We Three Kings, I Saw Three Ships, Carol of the Bells, What Child Is This?, O Come O Come Emmanuel, The Holly and the Ivy and Silent Night

As I mentioned earlier i bought the set of original movements from the composer for $35. A day later I received an email with the parts attached in PDF format. Good news and bad i guess. I had to print them out with my ink and paper and tape them together. A bit of a pain but I used good paper and they look nice and clean. They also sent Bb trumpet parts as well as C trumpet parts.

Can't wait to play them!

I found two CDs that appear to have this set of carols on them:

Philadelphia Brass Christmas, available from the Philadelphia Brass website
http://www.philadelphiabrass.com/recordings.html

and

Eternity Shut in a Span, available at Mr. Redford's website (and Amazon).
