Hello Tubenetters,
I am in need of advice about oiling my new VMI BBb four valve rotary tuba. What is the correct procedure and do you really put oil down the insides of all the slides? Please excuse my ignorance as I have played piston horns since 1970! Thanks for your anticipated help.

Check out these articles, they really helped demystify the whole rotary oil thing for me.

Are there different ways to do this? Yes. Will anyone fault you for doing it the way these articles suggest? Well, I won't and the authors (Spang and Osmun) won't. Knowing the right places to oil is half the battle.
I use the various Hetman's oils on my rotary horns. Others here, who will no doubt chime in after the holiday, use commonly available household lubricants (3-in-1 oil, Singer sewing machine oil).

And according to Roger Lewis, use sewing machine oil for the rotor bearings and filling the little "well" in the bottom cap, and 3-N-1 oil for the linkage.
In addition to that, I use a drop or two of RocheThomas regular valve oil directly on a rotor if it has dried out between sessions, Zaja with teflon for the main tuning slide and other lesser moved slides, and UltraPure light for riding throttle on #1 so that it doesn't foul the rotor.
