For several years now, I've been using a Humes & Berg 206 metal mute in my MW32. It's really more of an F tuba mute, so I added some cork to make it fit. It works really well. If you don't want to mess with adding cork, they make a bigger one. The model # is 208. It would probably work well, too.

It depends on the type of music, musical groups and your budget. I had good luck with Tennessee Tech Mutes. My opinion is that they are inexpensive for a good mute and have a nice bite in the sound. Also, my backup tuba is a MW 32.

I stand by what I said. However; I think that you should listen to Jack Tilbury very carefully and assign more weight to his opinion than mine. He is a first rate tubist.
