I'm thrilled to see I'm not the only one who uses the YamaYork in quintet!

Excellent!
There was another video on Utube also of the Vienna brass playing a thelonius monk medley, very cool. Was that John Sass on tuba?

Beautiful performance. That piece never gets old. I have never forgotten the first time I saw and heard it performed by Harvey Philips with the NYBQ, probably around 1963... Hoo Boy! It's indelibly etched in my head.

The good thing with Gene is that no matter the horn he is playing, he will have always a marvelous sound. Even in playing this YamaYork, he can have a perfect blend sound in this quintet. What a player he is ! In my opinion, he is one of a kind? But prefer his sound with the real York or even with the Yorkbrunner (in my opinion again) because he can really demonstrate his unique talent.
