I say now, as always; marching band members are every bit the athletes as those hitting the blocks. We sousaphone players do it with 27 pounds of metal on our left shoulder.

Some of us have done it with 42 pounds on our shoulders. The 4V is a couple of pounds more....

The 38K I play is "only" 35 lbs. I know, I'm such a lightweight....
It reminds me of when I was in high school, marching with a souzy, field in the fall and parade in the spring and summer, and when it came time to do some of the required physical education and fitness regimen, many of the football team were quite nonplussed that scrawny me could outlift them on the leg press, and keep up with them otherwise at the other stations.
