Greetings,

Have any one you heard of or even played Ivo Josipović's concerto for tuba and orchestra "Tuba Ludens" (2001)? Josipović is currently the president-elect of Croatia and I think it would be just the coolest thing to play something written by the president-elect of Croatia.

I see on this page that the piece is published by an "Ars Croatica" and is currently not available. I have had little luck finding any more information about this piece or where to get it. Any clues?

Also, would anyone here possibly know what the title means? No online tool I've found can point me into the direction of what a/an/ /the "Ludens" is/are.

Hvala!

Jackson

Hi, I was surprised to see that the new president is a composer too.. Good find! Anyway, Tuba Ludens means something like "The playing tuba" , -"ludere" is "to play" in latin-
I have friends in Croatia and I am spreading the search.. I will be in Zagreb the first week of February ( I live a 5 hours drive from Croatia and go there often for business) and if I find the score I will let you know.

My croatian friend send a request to the publishing company, and... the President himself replied! He was delighted by the interest on his work. The score is out of stock at the moment, but I am in the waiting list for the next reprint..
I'll keep you updated
