Mouthpiece for a large Marzan?

I have one of the large B&M-made Marzan CC tubas, and use a Baer MMVI with it. I like it just fine, and I'm not planning to change any time soon. Just curious what other Marzan owners use with their tubas!

I only have advice for a 1291, not a Marzan.

For my B&M-made York Master, I use a Doug Elliott T6 with a 132-2N rim. That is a large mouthpiece--too deep for the Holton but it works well on the beefy 4/4 YM. I bet a mouthpiece like that would work pretty well on a (similar) Marzan.

I have had good luck with a Laskey 28H. The former owner used a 24 AW, but he liked my 28H better.

Thanks! Curious what 'Tinker and Windshieldbug use too, since they're fellow Marzan full-timers.

I don't know the Laskey or Doug Elliott pieces well... any clue how they compare size-wise to the Baer MMVI?

I'll hear about this for a while, huh?
God help me if I ever get a small front-valved Eb and then sell it...

I have the same horn I believe - under the B&M label, CC with a 19 1/2 bell. I use a G&W Caver.

I've used a Miraphone Rose Solo (now TU-27) for years with my B&M slant-valve CC. I love the way it lights up the sound in an orchestra, the way it responds, and have been very happy with it.
I use other mouthpieces for other horns, but once I tried that Rose on my Marzan I've never had any need to look further. Of course, YMMV...

I've tried a myriad of mouthpieces on my Marzan. Including the original Marzan mouthpiece. ... Stofer Geib, Bach 7, Bach 18, Bach 12, PT-50, and a PT-48. I'm sure there are a few I don't remember at the moment. For the last six months or so, I've used a PT-48x with good results. I like large mouthpieces. I think I done 'experimenting' for a while.

I've been using smaller mouthpieces on mine. Currently the Perantucci 12 and PT-65, and a Miraphone TU-23. I use the Perantucci 12 is deep and I use it for orchestra and the others are very shallow and I use them for band and quintet. All are less than 32.50 mm inside diameter. The G&W Matanuska is another good mouthpiece for this horn as well. If the rim was wider, I would have kept it.

I like it a lot. It's in the opposite direction from my Willson CC. Where the Willson is clear and commanding in tone with very defined slots, the B&M is warmer and more diffuse in tone with great flexibility. Hard to put into words, really. My wife says I still sound like me . . .
