1st valve slide

Post by Morrell »

How do you get the first valve slide to move freely? I want it to be super easy to move. I have tried sanding it down, using trombone cream, valve oil, rotor oil, slide grease but nothing seems to work. Please help, thanks

I was using 800 grit and doing so very lightly. And after the sanding a couple of times I stopped. But is there a special cream or oil I could use to make it work

on my 186 I have the trumpet slide stopper thing mr.bloke is referring to and it works really well especially after play an old yamaha that I couldn't move valve slides it help me get used to it. And I use blue juice and it works fine but mine was aligned before hand.
