My Wind Ensemble is taking a trip next week and I need to bring a mute. Does anyone have any experiences with tuba mutes on an airplane? Did you carry it on? Check it in a box/bag?

A 'Conga' case (for a conga drum) works for a tuba mute while on tour. Good luck.

I bought mine via UK eBay directly from Mike. The deal was open for either the Eb or the BBb size. We discussed which one to take as I wanted one to be used a practice mute on my upright tubas. We decided on the Eb (Sovereign) size which also works well on my 1970 old style BBb comper, the F comper, and the 1870 Besson Eb. It is too small for my rotary CC sized like a 163. Mike will make what you want, if you tell the size of your bell, actually the throat.
