I am looking for a Gig bag for my Dalyan Apollo CC-whose bell measures 16.5" and is about 36" long.
I am looking at the Soundwear Performer series and at WWBW I saw these two:
http://www.wwbw.com/Soundwear-Performer ... 18258.wwbw" target="_blank
http://www.wwbw.com/Soundwear-Performer ... 23307.wwbw" target="_blank
The first one is for a slightly larger tuba (17.75" bell and 37.5" length) and the latter is for one with my size bell but 40.5" long.
Should I get one that gives a little extra room (like one of these, and if so which would be better, overall bigger or bigger in length only) or wait it out to find one with my tuba specs?

You could order a Cronkhite bag. That way, you have a bag just for your horn.

Aren't those about $100 more though?TexTuba wrote:You could order a Cronkhite bag. That way, you have a bag just for your horn.

They do make one that accommodates a 16 1/2 inch bell. I am not sure of the length but you might want to check out their website. http://www.soundwear.com

Re: Soundwear gig bag
Even if the bag is 1/3 the worth of your horn, I would spend the money on a properly fitted and padded gig bag to protect the horn from expensive dent repairs.bloke wrote:maybe...unless those pennies add up to something approximating 1/3 the market value of the instrument itself...sloan wrote:And worth every penny!

Re: Soundwear gig bag
When I got a soundwear performer gigbag for my 45sLp, it came with 3 curved pads to take up the extra space on the bottom bow. I still think that soundwear makes a great case.
