I just wanted to report about my experience with the Sellmansberger Solo mouthpiece (AKA "Blokepiece"). I have been using a PT-48 primarily with my 186 CC. Although I wouldn't likely utilize the Sellmansberger with music with a very low tessitura, I was very pleased with it last night. I played a gig with a small brass ensemble (3 trumpets, 1 trombone, & tuba)/piano/drum set/organ group that accompanied a 45 member men's chorus. I needed something that would help me project and articulate more cleanly. I think I found what I was looking for in the Sellmansberger Solo. I purchased it over a year ago when I was considering purchasing an F tuba. I really don't have a legitimate need for an F now, so the Blokepiece sat on the shelf. Last night we played a new tune with 16th notes that really needed to pop and one with a southern gospel style walking bass line. I'm glad I did and the trombonist could really tell a big difference.
