After seen "LA Story" for the umteeth time (and I still love today...Steve Martin is a brillant actor), I have a question. Other than this movie, how many tuba/baritone (loosely) actor are in the tv/movie. However, we can not use soundtracks (ie the Canadian Brass starring in "The Couch Trip") or stand-in actors. Let's start the list...
Hello? Bueller? Bueller?

This topic has been around the block a few times on Tubenet.
in addition to all the films mentioned on that thread I would add the 1958 Dutch film
Fanfare, a Danish film from 2000 called
Manden med tubaen ( Man With Tuba, ) and a French 2009 film
King Guillaume
and of course we can't forget
Patty Duke playing Sousaphone (badly) on one episode of The Patty Duke Show!
Probably a few more out there...

Two more scandinavian movies with tuba in leading roles:
Suffløsen (The Prompter), a Norwegian film about a romance between the prompter and the tubaplayer in an operahouse.
Du levande (You, the living), a Swedish movie about humanbeings, quite entertaining.
Both very worth seeing and with great soundtracks.

Vince Giordano was in "The Aviator", but not playing tuba, IIRC, rather string bass and bass sax. I think. So, half credit maybe?

The Great American 4th of July Caper (and other disasters). Jean Shepard story, very funny. Matt Dillon and friends are HS sousaphone sectionmates getting into trouble. I wish I could find this somewhere.

One of the characters in the Canadian show Robson Arms (about the people who live in an apartment building) plays the tuba. I can't remember his name, but he's the man who runs the convenience store. In one of the episodes, he auditions for the Vancouver Symphony, and the tuba makes appearances in other episodes as well.
