Glorious Everlasting

Post by tbn.al »

Anybody ever do this? M. Thomas Cousins - SATB, Organ and Brass Sextet. Pretty weak writing, IMHO. The brass parts exactly double the organ, note for note. Last night was our only rehearsal before Sunday and I'm thinking we ought to dump either the brass or the organ. Kind of superfulous it is. There are a couple of chromatic licks that are downright nasty sounding. O well. I played the 3301 'cause it was handy and fell in love all over again. What a horn! Never touched a slide. Put a nice fat bottom on the group without a whole lot of work on my part. Would like to hear if anybody else has done it and did you use both organ and brass or not.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.
