Thanks so much to Pat Whitaker and his wonderful wife Jean, for your very generous offer and your warm hospitality.

I had a chance to drive down to ME from Quebec City this weekend, to answer Pat's offer to let me get my old axe back, a very nice Rudy 5/4 BBb.
He let me hear what he had been playing with that horn and others; I've got to say I didn't know a Rudy could sound like that... I was very impressed!
We also fooled around with horns and pieces, some of which were actually bigger than my face...
Here's a good pic of us with the Rudy and his two BAT's, a 50's Conn 20J and a 30's Holton, two amazing instruments for their playing characteristics and condition.

I really enjoyed the short visit, as well as the drive on the beautiful roads going through VT, NH and ME.
I hope our roads cross each other again!

The Holton and Conn are both more "appropriate" for the gigs I play. Also they both have great false tones, a very clear lower to pedal register and recording bells. The Rudy was too "nice' for me.
