Anyone who saw/heard Red Lehr on the Lt Robert E Lee boat/barge on the St Louis riverfront, or anyone who knew about the Lee...
She burned to the hull Sunday. She was undergoing renovation and something happened. No one knows what as yet, except that it's totally gone.
Red was on there for something like 15 years, maybe 13. And, sad to say also, his colleague "Big" John Becker, possibly the single finest tenor banjoist in the world, died on Feb 26.
2 huge losses, one of great music and plain good people, the other of history and fond memories.
