I agree!! This ons of my favorite books. I used it while studying the Blazhevich too. I still break it out a lot when I play F tuba also.

These are great studies with lots of low register work,a really good compliment to Blazevich. Some are more melodious than others--one in particular has shades of Eugene Onegin and some are a little less convincing musically but still a good work out. The Vienna Phil. audition listed no. 50 as one of the excerpts to be played on the F tuba. Have a look at it ---well tricky! I try to play it on the E Flat Tuba with varying degrees of success.
If they are good enough for the Vienna then they're good enough etc.....

I have the 78 studies (and enjoy 'em). Are you saying that the newer 50 studies, written for tuba, are different from those?

It's probably the 78 studies I'm thinking of. Don't have them beside me! But they're still great studies. Must get the 50 studies version.
