It's a competition in Tokyo in a couple weeks run by the Japan Musical Education and Culture Promotion Society... Is anybody else on this forum going?

Since you're asking about upcoming competitions of interest to tuba and euph players, is anyone on this BBS entering the 2005 BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Soloist Competition?

Meanwhile, Carol, best of luck in Japan :!:

Ahh, it doesn't say that on the home page of the website. You have to download the .pdf of the application form before you find that out.

What a shame.

Are the Brits xenophobic about the talent outside of the UK? :)

Here's the answer from Al Booth, producer of BBC Radio 2's Listen to the Band:

As the BBC is a publicly funded body,
competitions are open only to those who pay the BBC license fee, ie
British residents.
Thanks for your interest anyway.

So, back to the topic subject. How's Carol's progress in the competition in Japan?
