Hi,

I'm currently looking for duets for trumpet and tuba; eventually, trios with an other instrument.
Do you have any suggestion?!?

Thanks a lot,

Jorge Salguiero, who wrote a challenging concerto for tuba commissioned by Sergio Carolino, also has a book of duets for trumpet and tuba. They are short, but are melodically and rhythmically interesting for both instruments. A set of 3 or 4 of those may be nice for a recital. They are available from Jorge thru his website, http://www.jorgesalguiero.com" target="_blank, and are called 10 miniatures. While looking at his site again, there is also something for tpt, tbn, and tuba that may be worth checking out also.

Hope this helps a bit!

Anthony Plog wrote a duet that he could play with tubist, Jim Self, entitled, "Tony and the Elephant or Jim and the Roadrunner". It is challenging but good.

It was actually written FOR Tony Plog and Jim Self, composed by William Schmidt. It's a great piece and indeed very challenging!!! I'm performing in the coming weeks and I'm really looking forward to it! It was composed in 5 short movements and requires not 1, not 2, BUT 3 different mutes for the tuba!!! (Straight, bucket and cup) I highly recommend it
