Honestly...

I think you're going to be far better off keeping the MW and practicing/playing on it as much as possible. Your MW is probably far easier to play than lots of more "popular" tubas.

Maybe I'm way off base here, but I believe that you'll have the same problems with a new horn that you're having with your MW, prehaps even more!

If you just want a new tuba, by all means...get a new tuba...but saying that you want to buy a new one because you can't sound good on your current one because you don't practice doesn't seem like a good reason to be buying a different horn to me.

Since you're not a music major and don't have a lot of time to devote to practicing, I wouldn't switch to CC. If I were you, I'd stick with the horn you've got. Talk to the local tuba guru and get his/ her opinion.
Generally this is good advice, but the M-W model 32, which he already has, is a CC tuba. I still agree with sticking with the horn. I don't think that any other tuba will make it easier to get a consistent sound with less practicing. The Cerveny 601 is a decent horn for the money, but I don't think it would be any better than the MW 32. It's just larger.
