I have a PT-88+ mouthpiece and I have recently ordered a 1292. Anyone know if the PT would be compatible with the 1292. I tried the 1292 at WWBW back in Jan and a got the piece late Mar so I haven't been able to try its out.

First, congrats on the new tuba. You'll love it.
I used a G&W Baer MMVI with mine. Perfect match (for me). I tried this on a recommendation and never had a need to try anything else!

Hey tubaman congrats on the new tuba. I have a 1292 and I love it. Its a great horn. For a mouthipice I use a pt 48 for orchestra and band rep and I use a schilke II for solo and brass quintet rep. Also if you get a chance, I would higly suggest you buy a alan baer pvac. It opens the horn just a bit more. I am sure you wont be dissapointed. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck with the new tuba.

I use a PT 88 with my 1292 and it seems to be a great combination.

Thank you guys for your replies. But what I meant was if the PT would fit into mouthpiece receiver of the New yorker being that it has a "European" receiver. When I went to test out the horn I took my G&W caver that I had at the time and the shank was too small for the horn fitting loosely and i was able to play with the G&W . I'm just not sure if my PT is a euro or american shank. I'm sorry about not being entirely clear with my OP
