I just love the euphonium counter melodies played out over the top of the band

That's the right tune. Could be a less than perfect recording or tiny computer speakers, but it is a great tuba part.

Well if you're into playing low and loud you would probably really enjoy this march. Its nice but kinda boring IMO.

IMHO THIS is a Kick Butt tuba part march (in unison with bones and Euphs.)

I see on Wiki that Huffine also wrote "Basses on a Rampage March" but Google finds credits by Richard Whitmarsh (leader of the South Shore Concert Band) - same song or what? I have not heard any version.

Anything by Karl King, especially his circus screamers. KK was a euph player and always wrote good, fun euph obble-gobble parts!

I once played under his direction. When I was a student at U. of Iowa (1958-1963) he was guest conductor at one of our concerts. In his later years he lived in Iowa and was the director of the Fort Dodge Municipal Band.

My Dad played euph and wanted to join a circus band but never made it. Karl King was his hero. He came to the above mentioned concert and got Karl Kings autograph on the program. I still have that precious memento!

That is the march version of a tuba concerto.

Also like "Quality Plus". For a long time here the Air Force Band had what must have been the only copy and it was their signature march. Did they get a shock one Anzac Day when Army put it on as the RAAF band approached the Shrine in Melbourne.

Great list; many of my faves also. Invercargill, trombone king, Washington Grays. Just played Standard of St. George by Alford today with the Lancaster British Brass Band (brass band version obviously) and who doesn't love Colonel Bogey?
