Also, their Ewald stuff is to die for wonderful, and very hard to locate. (Or it used to be difficult to locate on anything save for vinyl.)

Yeah, I've found some of their old recordings on vinyl (e.g. here), but apparently their old recordings on Sine Qua Non didn't make it into the digital age. Oh well, maybe getting one of those LP-to-MP3 or cassette-to-MP3 appliances should go on my "things to get" list.

Cool! Are there any issues with the sound quality (asked the man with the 30-year old cassette with about 1000 plays on it)?

It depends more on the cassette player. If a cassette player plays the tape without horrible sound quality, it is definitely doable to transfer unto PC/Mac. Try this one out (http://making-music.blogspot.com/2010/0 ... re-20.html" target="_blank), or Audacity. Like I said, it's based more on the tape player...(at least, as far as this goes)

BTW, I'm tempted to get that LP (Baroque Brass) and transfer that to computer (I have some Technics SL-1200 in the garage.)

The complete Baroque Brass and Russian Brass recordings (circa 1977) have recently been uploaded to Youtube by Jonathan Randazzo. If you are not familiar with these recordings, you should take a listen. Some of the finest small brass ensemble recordings ever made. Sam Pilafian sounds amazing, as do the rest of the guys.
